Indian Prime Minister Modi was also in the space agency headquarters to watch the landing on the moon. When he was told that the signal was disconnected, Modi left there disappointed.

According to British broadcaster BBC, India's moon mission has apparently failed, it wanted to be the first to land on the south pole of the moon. Earlier in 2008, India's moon mission failed, while the US, Russia and China made successful landing at the moon level.
